NUS EMBA Class of 2012

Partner, Advanced Manufacturing and Mobility Leader LATAM North
Ernst & Young

Where are you now?

I’m now back in Mexico where I left the government sector and rejoined the private sector.  I’m a Partner at Ernst & Young, where I’ve had the chance to work on amazing projects and travel the world.  During the nine years that I’ve been here, I’ve held several positions, currently as Advanced Manufacturing and Mobility market segment leader for North LATAM, and Americas Payroll Operations Leader. Some of my most important achievements include creating the Americas Payroll Center of Excellence and building the technology platform for EY Payroll Services in LATAM; selling the largest tax project in the history of EY for the region; co-developing and implementing some of the highest impact projects in the region such as the Tax Finance Operate solution. Overall I’ve had the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally to become and be recognised as a transformational leader.

On the personal side, especially during this pandemic, I have taken the opportunity to take up old passions that I had put aside – I have taken up golf again! It was not easy having not played for over 15 years, but after a year, I am now a single digit handicap golfer, and I really enjoy it every time I have the chance to get a quick round. I’ve even convinced my father to take up golf again, and these days we try to play at least once a week. I really enjoy spending time with my family.

How has the NUS EMBA helped shape where you are and what you’re doing now?

My NUS EMBA experience was amazing, I will always treasure it and it was so much fun! It definitely left a mark on me, and I am always proud to say I am an NUS graduate. From day one, it has had a positive impact on my career – from the moment I joined EY, it was greatly valued by the partnership.  On the personal side, it was just a great experience that has positively influenced me to be where I am.
