Connecting Leaders Worldwide through the Global Network Week

In today’s rapidly evolving global business landscape, navigating international markets and understanding diverse cultural contexts is essential for effective leadership. The NUS Executive MBA (EMBA) program recognises this need and offers a transformative experience through the Global Network Week organized by the Global Network for Advanced Management. This unique program component allows students to gain unparalleled global exposure, engage with peers worldwide, and apply their learning in real-world settings.

Global Exposure: A Key to Success

The NUS EMBA program is well-lauded as the only university in Singapore in the Global Network for Advanced Management. Partnering with over 30 prestigious institutions worldwide, including Oxford, Yale, IMD, IE, and HEC, the program ensures that students receive a holistic and international education. During the Global Network Week, participants immerse themselves in intensive workshops and seminars led by renowned global faculty, gaining hands-on experience through immersive projects and real-world case studies.

Insights from Our Students

The impact of Global Network Week is best understood through the experiences of the students who have participated. We gathered insights from our students and learned what they had learned from the experience. Mr Rameshwar Sharma says: “I feel grateful to have met empathetic and curious leaders and learned about inclusive leadership, with tools and frameworks for the leadership journey during Global Network Week at IE Business School in Spain. The opportunity to engage with diverse perspectives and innovative ideas was invaluable, and it significantly enhanced my understanding of holistic leadership.”

Ms Pauline Romanoff echoes a similar sentiment about the benefits of the Global Network Week. She found her time at Yale School of Management’s Global Network Week immensely rewarding. “I joined 74 students from 18 Global Network schools, diving deep into behavioural science and management. The insights from Prof. Ravi Dhar, Prof. Zoe Chance, and others were transformative, providing me with new tools to enhance my leadership skills and understanding of human behaviour in management.”

Reflecting on his time at IMD,  Mr Kenny Lim shared, “Time flies, and we are already done with a one-week Global Network Week (GNW2024) course on Digital Business Transformation at IMD. Attending the class with 38 other students from 16 renowned universities was a privilege.” The course covered digital strategy, AI, cybersecurity, and more, providing a comprehensive view of digital transformation. He noted that the knowledge gained has driven innovation within his organisation.

Mr Sanket Sasane highlights how the Global Network Week at UC Berkeley Haas was climactic. He remarked “Thanks to NUS EMBA, we had the incredible opportunity to represent the University of Berkeley Haas for GNAM week. We focused on ‘Gender, Equity, and Leadership,’ which helped us build our leadership capabilities by ensuring equal opportunities.” He also added that discussions on gender equity and leadership were eye-opening, and the collaborative environment fostered deep learning and personal growth.

Similarly, Mr Rafal Hyps found his week at the Stockholm School of Economics an exceptional learning experience. “The course in Nordic Entrepreneurship provided by the Stockholm School of Economics has surpassed my highest expectations of executive education. The week was full of discoveries, from insightful lectures and company visits to late-night conversations and peer-to-peer learning.” He highlighted that the emphasis on Nordic values and innovation was particularly inspiring, leaving him with a deeper appreciation for entrepreneurial thinking.
